If you absolutely had to drink I would say make sure it's at least 12 hours from your last dose.

It's never good to drink alcohol when taking antidepressants, and that goes doubly for teens. A teenager should be watched carefully when taking medications such as Celexa, as some of them can actually cause suicidal thoughts or acts. Add the depressant alcohol, and that's a double whammy. Hon, save the alcohol for another time, you have no business drinking anyway.

Celexa, (generic name citalopram), Luvox (fluvoxamine), Paxil (paroxetine), Prozac (fluoxetine) and Zoloft (sertraline) are antidepressant drugs called SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors). In general, themanufacturers of most SSRIs recommend avoiding alcohol with these medicines. The combination of an SSRI and alcohol may increase the chance or severity of side effects such as drowsiness, slow reflexes, or clouded judgment. This can be dangerous when driving a car or operating other machinery.

Also, alcohol may make you feel depressed. In this way, alcohol can interfere with the actions of your SSRI to treat depression. Try to avoid or limit your use of alcohol while taking an SSRI.

Celexa, is that a mood med? I would say know, drinking and taking any of those causes crazy reactions. I dated this guy who I got drunk and didn't realize he was on meds and he got out of my bed in his boxer shorts and walked about 5 miles in the snow to a hotel and slept on the ground.

its not ok to drink alcohol while on any medication

it messes with the way it works in your body. Sometimes making it not work. Some times making you more depressed.

It also increases the risk of all mentioned side effects for any drug

Any Type of Medication Like That Alcohol Will Increase It's "Side"-Effects.....Drowsyness, etc.... I Wouldn't If I were You..

Oh my god, no.

I was on a similar medication and got drunk, and there were serious, and unpleasant side effects as a result of combining the alcohol and medication.

Absolutely not. Take it from someone who has done it and knows others who have, it just isn't worth it. You can do some damage that is difficult for me to put into words.
