Tamil - a widely respected Indian language is very facilitating. U have separate id gender wise. And the current trend is to punctuate ur call of hubby/ bf with the language id of the other sex. Current trend is to call "dai chellam" if it is ur gf or wife and "di chellam" if it is ur hubby or bf.

Call him what makes him smile. There is no one word that will do it. Use a variety of words and keep him guessing. Thanks for asking and Aloha from Hawaii
