I am learning italian at the moment, and I spend a lot of time on the internet, so yeah... I've got a lot of websites.

* First, you MUST sign up at this website, It's been SO useful, I'm in love with it lol:

http://ta.slf.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/pa/pr/a...

They'll connect you with someone who (in this case) speaks italian and wants to learn english, so you teach each other your native languages. I became friends with a really cool italian guy and I've learned A LOT. It's better than any class you can take because this is real people teaching you, and you learn to speak like a normal person and not like a cheap dubbed movie.

The only bad thing is they take about a month to connect you with someone. It's a long process but really worth the wait.

* Now, this is a list of some great websites:

- The Alphabet
http://www.scuolaelettrica.it/primaria/c...
You can start by learning the alphabet first. This page even has sounds so you pronunciate them correctly!

- Italian Dictionary
http://www.sapere.it/gr/dictionarysearch...
So you can look up any words in italian.

- Verb Conjugations
http://www.verbix.com/languages/italian....
You just enter a verb in italian and this websites tells you all the conjugations. VERY useful.

- Translation Dictionary
http://wordreference.com/
This lets you translate words from English to Italian and Italian to English (other languages available too).

* You could also download music from italian singers Eros Ramazzotti, Tiziano Ferro and Laura Pausini, just make sure the songs are in italian because all three also sing in spanish.

I wish I could help you some more but I'm mexican so the other websites I have are in spanish.

You could even contact me if you want to and we can practice or something.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Try iTunes > podcasts (free download from itunes.com) and do a search on italian lessons in the podcast window. I found a few free lessons that included slides to go with the (primarily) audio lessons.

Wikipedia (www.wikipedia.org) is a good place to to look as well. There's always some free wikibooks dedicated to beginners language lessons.
