One of my favorites has always been:

"Goddess grant me the vision to see beyond the illusions of this world, grant me the ears to hear beyond the words to the true meaning, and grant me a voice in which I may speak truth and compassion in your name. So mote it be."

Nice. Short. And always good when needing grace under fire.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.

-or-
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time, one moment at a time, accepting hardships as the path to peace.

Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it. Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to his will.

That I may be reasonably happy in this life, and supremely happy with him in the next forever. Amen.

(You can just say the beginning too-I just put the whole thing because it's pretty.)

I'm a big fan of the Lord's Prayer... I'll repeat it over and over again to myself when I'm worried, stressed, scared, can't sleep, have a problem, anything.

'Our Father Who art in Heaven,
hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kindgom, Power and the Glory,
Forever and Ever,
Amen.'

You don't need any specific prayer. Just speak from your heart. No matter what religion or beliefs you have. Saying what you feel out loud will make you feel better.

If you believe in God, then HE will most CERTAINLY hear you. If you don't, then saying these things out loud will simply clear the air of any dread you have.

i'd suggest looking up passages from marianne williamson.. her's is simple, non-denominational.. and inspirational.

but, i'd perfer to make up my own-- it's more personal that way.. and besides, it's just between you and God, right? so, just be sincere, and simple.. it doesn't have to be cute, it does have to be honest.
