I was invited to have dinner with Tarja Halonen, the president of Finland.
I'm really worried about my table manners. I'm a penguin so I usually don't use a fork or a spoon, I just pick things off my plate with my beak.
Will that be OK to do in front of the President of Finland or will she be offended?

I also drink by sticking my beak in the cup. I slurp a lot and tend to splash my drink out of the sides of my beak (that's just how us birds drink). Do you have any suggestions to help me be neater at the dinner table?

You sound like a very sweet and sensitive penguin just from the fact that you have asked that question.
I suggest therefore that you Just be yourself - - -
I do think though, that you might fore go the traditional penguin hostess-gift of a bouquet of fragrant dead fish and opt out for roses instead.

Penguin manners are fine. Just make sure your tuxedo is clean and brushed. Have a wonderful dinner and evening.
PS. Don't try to have dinner with George W. Bush. He has no table manners whatsoever. He talks with food in his mouth and chews with his big mouth open. He is a pig. Just be glad you are a penguin and not a pig.

Don't talk with your mouth full. Keep your arms/elbows/etc. off of the table while eating. No part of your body should be touching the table. Don't burp. Chew with your mouth closed. Take small bites, chew them well, and don't gulp. Where's Big Momma Penguin??

Well, considering your lack of thumbs, I think the way you eat and drink should be just fine! Just use your best penguin manners. =0)

i think that the president of Finland should understand. that you have to eat/drink like that. Hello it is kinda obvious you are a bird. anyways why should you change your ways just to please someone else?
