i've noticed how the U.S. news media always says "Islamic terrorists" and stuff, making it sound like terrorism is a part of Islam, which is not!
how many of you honestly know about Islam, more than just what the media says?
i know there are people that go to anti-Islamic sites to "learn" about Islam... which is totally unreliable and wrong. its like saying Nazis teaching u about Jews.
how many of you know about Islam, excluding what the news & anti-Islamic websites say?
Islam is not like anything negative u think of. its not good to be ignorant (not saying u r); knowledge is a blessing... so i encourage u to learn what this religion teaches.

james_b: no, u r probably thinking of Judaism. Islam was revealed after Christianity.
Zombie: u r a perfect example of an anti-Islamic person that likes to take verses out of context. tho, ur tactics werent that good... u partially refuted urself. those verses are referring to self-defense. if u think self-defense is wrong, then im sure u wouldnt mind if sum1 threatened to kill u and ur loved ones?

i have muslim friends... so i know a lot about islam... and while i know that there are many warlike phrases in the quran... i know that there are just as many that are peaceful... and i know that while the christians historically slaughtered and persecuted my people... the muslims always showed us mercy in the past and let us live with them in peace which says a lot about their compassion

First of all, I would like to say that I know that not all followers of Islam are extremists, terrorists, or belong to militant groups.
That said, to answer your question, I know all that I need to. I know that many Islamic people believe the dome of the rock to be the mosque Mohamed visited, however it was built after he died. I also know that Muslims bow down to a meteorite that they believe was sent from Allah. Finally, I know that Islamic Leaders in the Middle East are extremely intolerant because they all refuse to recognize the existence of Israel. Iran has even sworn to destroy Israel. And has Saudi Arabia, whose laws are based upon the Koran, done anything? No! I just don't get how that is peaceful.

When people and nations live in darkness, they lose sense of direction. In an information age, knowledge–driven global culture of reason, ignorance is no longer a requisite to learn from the living history. The previous Empires knew their geography and limits, but the newly articulated American Empire in its infancy, is challenging to the limits of the Laws of God and appears obsessed with “fear” of being replaced by the new emerging nations of Asia and South America. Bush invoked the “War on Islam”, as a dictum of power, not reason and wisdom, to camouflage the prospective future with acts of barbarity and to dispel the notion of accountability in global affairs. Historically, people and nations pursuing this path of behavior have ended up in self-defeat and self-destruction.
The 9/11 attacks and religious doctrines have no common ground. Hourly paid intellectuals turned guardian of approved truth, allege that Islam breeds terrorism. The Western mass media complements the scientifically discovered notion to poison the public perceptions and source of judgments against the Arabs and Muslims. The Neo-Conservatives helped to rob the humanity of its human heritage. The perception of ‘radical Islam’ was invented and enhanced by the ‘fear’ of terrorism and as a precursor to attack Muslims.

"Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loves not transgressors.
And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. But if they cease, God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevails justice and faith in God; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression." (2:190-193)
Muhammad was a revisionist and a war-monger. That's all I need to know. You and Christians can find an isolated island and kill each other off if you want to. Just leave the rest of us out of it.
ADDENDUM: If I am quoting out of context, then why are Muslims waging war outside the realm of self-defense, and where is the outrage over their behavior from other Muslims? Hmm?

I have learned more about Islam in the last 5 years than I ever knew. Most of it is not good. I don't like it. Sorry, I know you like it and feel it is right for you, and that it is your truth, but I have my own beliefs of truth.
I have asked God to show me the True Way and I am pretty sure He has. It wasn't Islam....
