Windows was invented by the richest man in world.Windows is so called bcoz it is a entry like a window (monitor,square shape)into a world that is full of entertainment,official work ,education,knowledge and many things more.

it is called like that because it consists of many windows (explorer), every opened folder is a window. so windows is the plural of window

Long-long time ago,drawing picture using computer is a very hard work.The easiest shape would be square or maybe triangle.
Billy Gates didnt have much time to think about his logo and product name.He ended up creating a square logo and named it windows.
