The book of Revelation is the main doomsday book.

Revelation is considered one of the most controversial and difficult books of the Bible, with many diverse interpretations of the meanings of the various names and events in the account. Protestant founder Martin Luther considered Revelation to be "neither apostolic nor prophetic" and stated that "Christ is neither taught nor known in it"

In the 4th century, St. John Chrysostom and other bishops argued against including this book in the New Testament canon, chiefly because of the difficulties of interpreting it and the danger for abuse. Christians in Syria also reject it because of the Montanists' heavy reliance on it. In the 9th century, it was included with the Apocalypse of Peter among "disputed" books in the Stichometry of St. Nicephorus, Patriarch of Constantinople. In the end it was included in the accepted canon, although it remains the only book of the New Testament that is not read within the Divine Liturgy of the Eastern Orthodox Church.

Exact interpretations of the Chronology of Revelation vary extensively. Literal biblical scholars often see the events portrayed as a "laundry list," to be checked off one by one as the time of Revelation grows near. Others feel that the many images in Revelation are figurative or perhaps even commentaries on the world during the time when Revelation was written.

Personally, I believe that it was written in the context of events in Israel around 65 -70 AD. Therefore, the final days came and went.

Read the Foundation series. Read the history of the early Christian church. Understand more through study instead of just trying to read the words and thinking that it is literal.

To people that think that we are in the final days, either don't remember or were not alive during the 70's.

During the entire history of society, there have been wars and rumours of war. It is no different today, from last year, 1945, 1881 or 1235.

Read Hal Lindsay's books.

Revisit this question 20 years from now. Most of us will still be around, even the people that think about Rapture.

Read Revelations, and ask your preacher. But, it is beleived that God will remove his bride (christians) in the rapture. Those left will then go through what is called the 'Tribulation' and "the great Tribulation' which is when the Anti-Christ will come into power. This period will last for seven years, during which time, those who come to know Christ as savior will be persecuted. At the end of this 7 years, Christ will come and bind Satan (Anti-Christ) and bring forth his kingdom and reign over the Earth for 1000 years (knownas the Milenial Kingdom). at the end of this period will be judgement day, where we will all either answer for our sin, or live forever with the father in the new heaven and new earth. That is the main gist of what I learned. But please read Revelations and speak to someone with more knowledge of that than I.

My favorite is Planet X, which would have caused the seas to part for Moses and the earth to flood for Noah and is hinted at in Revelations in the bible. It's backed up by many different prophecies from all around the world and many different cultures, as well as Nostradamus, Edgar Cayce and many others. Keep an eye on the skies ... :}

The Bible does not say that the world will end. It will be transformed with the second coming of the CHRIST and the Establishment of the kingdom of heaven on earth.
reread the book of Revelations . With plenty of asprin handy to try and untangle all the predictions in it.

It's not just Revelations, it is in Daniel and a few other places in the Bible too.
Wars, earthquakes, natural disasters, signs and wonders in the heavens. (sky/space....moon, stars, etc...) Anti-Christ seems to bring peace, deceives many....(The Temple in Jerusalem is rebuilt first). The Mark of the Beast (666) in order to buy, sell, or trade anything....1/3 of life including fish and plants dies.

i heard there will be this great war that will involve the world called "Armagedon" or something like that...

i also heard some Christians believe this war was WW2.

there are similar beliefs in Islam. the Anti-Christ (Dajjal) and his followers (Jews... Israelis in my belief) against the Mahdi (Muslims as his followers) and Christians as allies. when Jesus returns, he will be siding with the Mahdi and fight the AntiChrist.
