First off I'm a teenager so this SHOULDNT be happening!!! For the last two weeks or so (started around the first of hte month) my hair has been falling out in pretty signifcant strands. I'm not balding in any spots or anything and my hair seems about the same thickness, so I'm at a loss to what's going on. I heard iron defieciency anema could be a cause? I'm a vegeterian, and I used to bruise easily, but haven't really noticed any unnormal bruises in the last two months. Should I start an iron supplement? I don't really have the best insurance to see a doctor for something asinine like this...I also start school in a couple days..maybe subconscious stress about that might be the cause? Or, (this may ridicoulous I don't know) could I be allergic to my shampoo? I've been using it longer than two weeks, but maybe it's an aquired allergy? I don't know..please help! =(

This could mean several things but have you asked your physician?

I had the same problem and turned out my thyroid wasn't working properly. I'm not saying that is what is going on with you but if it is, you and your doctor really need to know about it.

Look up thyroid on the google and see what you think.

I am not sure if you just became a vegeterian so this is something new to your body but I know that when some people go on exteme diets they tend to lose important vitamins that your body needs and this can cause hair loss. Also I am not sure exactly how much hair you are losing but it is common to lose more hair in the summer than in the winter. Maybe you should change shampoos and see if there is a difference.

As you assumed, that may be the reasons. If you use a new shampoo it will take few weeks for your skin to adhere with that new product. But if hairfall is a lot, better to stop the product. By that time you can try some homemade (of your own) products. It is safe and no need to worry about allergy or further hairfall. If your scalp became sensitive, do not TRY new new products.

As you are vegetarian try natural homemade thongd. If want these type of tips visit- http://geebal.blogspot.com

It might be because its so hot outside, or stress related.
