If you are not in the loop with the people who would know (And you are not or you would not be asking this question here) You will never know who took it.
If you are in a city, forget it.
If you are in a smaller area, start telling people that you want to buy some equip. and you do not care where it came from as long as it is cheap. Do not talk about your system. If you try to turn in the guy who has it, be ready to step up to the plate and be a man around town.

Did you call the police and make a report? lol Chance are you will never find out. Buy a new one that has a face plate that detaches and take it with you when you leave the car. Buy a car alarm too.

good luck, Try the pawn shops, once its gone, its usualy gone for good, I once had someone I knew break into my house, I told the cops who did it, and even showed them where he lived, I wnet to the pawn shop to get my cds back and even had a complete list of what was missing, and showd the store emploee my name on some of the cds, but they acted like I was the criminal. the only reason I got my stuff back was because I went and took it back out of his house. the cops did nothing.
