i don't get it. when i was in 5th grade, i had a crush on a guy. he was really mean to me at school, but when we carpooled home together he was really nice. i told him i liked him, and he said he liked me back. but the next day at school, i waved to him, and he said "get lost you freak." so why are you guys so mean to girls you really like?

He is embarrassed to show his friends that he likes you because he fears being ridiculed. The meanness is a mask to cover up the embarrassment. It's the way guys act. Have you ever seen "Grease?" Perfect example of guy behavior.

Its reputation. Some guys have to act the tough guy. Or maybe because he didn't have that same feeling at the time. I don't know...strange thing.
