My friend has almost finished making all the payments but had the car transfered into someone else's name because of issues with credit. The person whose name it is under now refuses to transfer it back even though he has not paid a cent toward the car. is there any way to get the car back into my friend's name?

MP5, or a gas axe, will turn the most stubbourne around, I promise. If you'd like to go for a less destructive method, though, try to go to a solicitor. From experience, though, if you've given a bucket of cash to someone, 'cos they're acting in your best interest, you've just been screwed, and the law is on their side. Better you than me.

Involve the law, and if the police are unwilling/unable, then there is always civil court. Hopefully your friend has documentation for his payments towards the car.

Nope. What your friend did is fraud and now he's paying the price. He's not the legal owner of the car and he has no recourse. Even if he has a written agreement with the person whose name is on the title it is unenforceable becuase of the credit fraud that was involved.

You might consider going to court and having a judge hear your story, if he/she agrees w/ you, he will order the other party to turn over the tittle.

If your friend has proof that he/she is making the payments, they could take them to small claims court.
