Whether this is the final generation is still a matter of debate.
A close analysis of scripture seems to reveal a couple of different scenarios, covering at least two different time frames, which may be thousands of years apart.
Until we can identify antichrist claiming to be God, and experience the tribulation events that surely put the lie to his words, we can't really know for sure.
Some of the other commenters have said that antichrist's time is three and one half years, but we know from Revelation chapter 9 that his time is shortened to five months.
For a number of reasons, I'm guessing this time period begins on Pentecost and wraps up about five months later, right at the end of the old Jewish Feast of Tabernacles ... and at the very moment the last ceremonial trumpet sounds.
Then, Jesus comes back.
Interestingly enough, the first time Jesus came (the first Christmas) was likely at that same time of year.
Note: Your mileage may vary.

Remember a day is as a thousand years to God. Not all the prophecies have been fulfilled.
There is a big dispute among Christian weather Christ will come before the Great Tribulation, or after. The Great Tribulation is also to give the Jews a second chance, according to the New Testament.
I think that though we may be close to the 'end times', that we aren't quite there yet.
The Bible talks about a one earth Government, which we don't have quite yet. I think that's where the United Nations will come into the picture.

Every generation of mankind since the book of Revelation was written has had very good arguments as to why THEY were the last generation and living in the End Times. There is a very good reason that the Bible says that we will NOT know when this is going to happen. Yes, we're given things to watch for and signs to be aware of - but since it's all open to interpretation, NO ONE can say anything for certain that remotely pin points it. That was done for a reason. Quit trying to second guess your God.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the antichrist spoken of, determined to be Nero? That kind of invalidates the whole argument.
Hundreds of generations have claimed to be living in the "end times"...all have been wrong. This time will be no different.

I don't understand. If God already knows the anti-Christ is coming, why wait until after to send his son?

what about the rest of the world? are you going to send them to hell just so you can be rapped on the head by a camel jockey? BESIDES, IT'S SEVEN YEARS OF THE BAD GUY, NOT FIVE MONTHS. read the book of revelation. you might find you studied under an idiot who can't read.

Praise the Lord. I cant wait for the Rapture to start. Who knows God will leave me here to form a tribulation force. I rather go to Heaven instead of forming a tribulation force.
