As far as Y!A goes, I feel it is an indication of how serious a question is. There is a spell checker and takes only seconds. If they cannot at least do that then I ignore the question. I feel that the person is just playing games and looking for attention because of some insecurity. They do not care so why should I,

When it is a deliberate misspelling such as:
i wuz unda da lite n dis guy putted hiz fut n da pudel
(that is not a real quote just sample of what i have seen people do on here.)
well that is annoying and hard to read. and it's just someone being either lazy or deliberately obnoxious. How hard is it to spell correctly? Plus if they are seriously asking a question and they want answers why won't they take the time to make it readable when they want others to take the time to answer? just seems courteous to me.
But when it is someone who was just typing too fast or simply misspelled a word then that is human and it bothers me when people get all bent out of shape over that.

Sloppy spelling is all too frequently a sign of sloppy thinking. Given the existence of a spell checker in the Answer facility, there is really no good excuse for bad spelling -- it simply suggests that the writer is being lazy, possibly intellectually as well as physically.

It's a a way that people gauge each other's intelligence. Either people who spell badly or unconventionally are attention whores and not worthy of time, stupid (for not knowing to spell or at least using "spellcheck") or lazy.
All of which are poor personality traits.

Nothing means more to a person than being understood in life(except being loved). And if we can't retain our ability to communicate, spell and to punctuate our sentences, then we are on the way to losing our language.

well for one, it makes reading that persons question or answer kind of difficult. and also, if you actually do know how to spell it's shameful to see someone intentionally MISspelling. it's just the way it is.

because errors are obnoxious and its hard to make sense of some peoples (likely including my own) babbling.
