Corinthians 2:14

The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Does this verse remind you of the story of the Emperor who had no clothes? The Emperor was so convinced that walking around naked was the height of fashion that no one in his kingdom could convince him otherwise, and so he set about parading himself before the masses. Likewise those who dress themselves up in things that are supposed to come from the Spirit of God are so convinced that doing so is the height of fashion that no one can convince them otherwise and they set about parading themselves before the masses?

Good analogy. The Bible is not fiction but does use stories referred to parables to make points. The Emperor's New Clothes is like a modern day parable.

Great question!

Nope. Simply because your version of the emporor is wrong. He was fooled into thinking what he was supposedly wearing was beautiful by the yes men around him, never imagining that those around him were liars and theives until a child asked his mother within his hearing why he was naked. That you would attempt to change such a simple truth makes this one wonder why you would want yes men to exist?

This means of a man does not live by the direction of the holy spirit, he can not understand the direction of the spirit.

Very well written, too bad you are way off from the intended idea or moral of the story.

An alternative interpretation to your parable -- is that your statement tends to confirm the truth of 1 Cor 2:14... (no offense meant).

Please be aware that there is scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm)

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

Cordially,
