As a teenager we always said it was appendicitis if it is on the right. In fact, when I called the doctor's office that is what she said!
My son vomited all night. In the morning he told me he had pain above his belly button (not on the right) so I dismissed appendictis. My husband thought that it was probably muscle pain due to the vomiting.
Anyway, my son had a fever and that is a symptom of appendicitis... he also had pain walking so I took him to the doc right away. Better safe than sorry. If they don't catch it in time it could rupture and then there can be mega problems and it is major surgery instead of a simple snip. The doc had him jump off the table and he screamed in pain and started crying.
They took white blood count at the hospital and sure enough it was elevated.
He DID have appendicitis. Pain can be in the middle!!
P.S. My nephew had apendictis too. He had no vomiting, no temp, no high white blood count, so the er sent him home with antacid.
He had a ruptured appendix next day. Appendicitis can even be fatal. It releases poison throughout the entire abdominal cavity.

the appendix is on the lower right hand side of the pelvic region. Tell your frined he/she needs to make a trip to the Emergency Room. An appendix can rupture, causing all the toxins and poisons to spread throughout the body.

Divide the abdomen into four in such a way that the umbilicus is the center. then from the umbilicus draw a diagonal line running through the right lower quadrant. exactly at the middle of that line is the appendix.

Right side.
If this is where you are going for medical advice such as this - you need more than medical help! You also need psychological help!
Get your friend to a doctor or the ER IMMEDIATELY! Don't allow severe pain to go unoticed - obviously, (no matter what side the pain is on,) medical attention is needed!

Lower right side. But mine was in the middle, I honestly thought it was just a severe period.
Get them to the ER, this could be serious! DO NOT play around with this, you can DIE from this.

If the pain is severe or prolonged or if the person is doubled over consult a physician immediately. Call 911 if necessary. Good luck. Also note if there is a temperature or rebound tenderness.
