people of Christianity don't get along with eachother or other religions or even those who don't have a religion?? I'm Catholic, former protestant, and if I have learned anything in the past year from my husband and my sister in law, it is that people have their reasons for believing what they believe. Considering that fact that I'm NOT God or anything close to his existance why would it be my place to judge? I feel it isn't. I'll admit that it is hard to accept why people don't believe the way I believe. Our bible teaches us judge not, unless ye be judged. I think the world would be a better place if we could accept people for what they believe and not impress our beliefs on anyone.....do you think that could ever be possible?? It is so much easier to love someone when you don't judge them for their beliefs, and as a Christian that is what I'm called to do. I'm not perfect and I don't ever claim to be, but despite sounding cliche....can't we all just get along? What's your opinion?

In my humble opinion, the real problems are caused by people who actually know what true Christians stand for, who feel that they don't measure up to Christian standards, or who vehemently disagree with Christian principles, and who automatically assume that we are judging them, because of their position.

This is most prevalent in matters like abortion, birth control, homosexual marriage, cloning, and embyonic stem cell work.

The simple fact is, we are called to make judgments on these matters, and to stand up for our Christian beliefs. If we don't, God will judge us.

These issues pit brother against brother, father against son, neighbor against neighbor, so it's no wonder we can't "just get along".

The best we can hope for is to make a small difference, and perhaps, save a few lives (and a few souls) but backing down in the interest of false harmony is not an option.

Mat 10:34 Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword.
Mat 10:35 For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Let's put it this way....more wars (if not all) have been started in the name of religion. I don't see any changes happening too soon, especially with the most recent war on terror and the Israel/Hezbollah conflict.

The truth of the matter is that there are many people out there who can overlook religious differences and still get along. I just wish there were more, especially in the Middle East!!!!

We should all try to help each other be more Christ like. That does not mean that we just accept everything as ok. It means that we interpret the bible as best we can. We should then try to encourage one another to follow Christ as best as we can. What would you do if a brother started to do something that was clearly a sin, but said it is fine according to his preacher? Would you just sit by and stay quiet? If so, that's not love. If you love them, I would think you should gently talk to them about it. Sometimes we may lack the gentleness, but that is still better than apathy.

I wish more people who call themselves Christians thought like this...
Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul... and love your neighbor like yourself.

Granted, certain other "terrorist" religions believe in killing your neighbor if they're not of the same faith... At least when people kill in the name of Christianity you know they're not following Jesus' teachings. When people kill in the name of some other religions, they're following their religion.
