I would have to say a strong belief in who am, where I'm going with my life and feeling passinate about life itself also to never take it for granted. Same with my bf or husband. It would really suck to be all confident in yourself and know what you want but your spouse or significant other doesn't even feel that way at all.

I think it is important that a partner is true to themselves, meaning they honor their own self, body, mind, spirit, etc. and treat themselves well. I also think compassion and honesty are vital.
