I'm 18 and I have thick, blonde wavy hair but I never know how to get it cut or what to do with it. Because I wear it up so much it tends to get frizzy and breaks off easily, but it also gets oily pretty fast. I've tried cutting it short but it usual ends up looking odd. Currently I have it medium length and cut in layers. What is my best bet? Get it cut a little shorter or finally let it grow out?

I also have thick, wavy hair. Layers on our hairtype are a huge pain in the butt. They just cause our hair to look puffier and to frizz even more easily. I had layers. Once. Never again!
My advice? Grow it. Grow out the layers. Get tiny trims just to keep splits at bay. Pamper and moisturize your hair. Throw away the blow dryer and heat stylers. You will, in time end up with a head of long, thick, bouncy, healthy, gorgeous hair. What could be more beautiful than that?

My hair is like yours, but blond. Anyway, I was told to layer but when I did they cut my top layers so short that I couldn't wear my hair completely natural or I had big poofs on the top of my head! I reccomend if you want fringe getting a few LONG layers around your face and then having your hairstylist keep the rest of you hair at about the same length- probably between your shoulders and neck.

It's all merely a matter of personal preference. We have short hair and guys just like it. And i prefer a person with short hair over a person with long hair because long hair tends to make guys look too girly.

Let it grow. Thick wavy hair is better when its longer, its easier to straighten and easier to take care of and the longer you have it the more options you have with styling, you could cut bangs or make twists and different kinds of buns and ponies.

I have short tresses for the first time since I was 10 years old and I really like it but I skip my long curly locks so I'm growing it back out!

Hey I am a 15 year old guy, I have very very thick hair but I use a ceramic staightener to get my hair to have a nice complicated look...I suggest cut it down to your shoulders with an angle cut in it so it's not one equal length...use a little bit of hair spray to keep the frizz down and also test out dif hair gels for the consencetansy and toughness after it dries..hope that helped

Just keep it medium length. Every 3 mths or so juz trim it. Not to make look big. Also condition ur hair. Make it smooth & manageable.
