Yep, I agree. She's not coming, and neither is her son, or his father.
They're not coming.

Dee,
I think that Mary was a believer in Christ, who happen to also be here son.
Her son never said to pray to her. The old woman should be praying to God through the Father's Son Jesus.
No wonder the old woman's prayers weren't answered!
No one in the Bible, including God, said to pray to Mary. None of the types in the Old Testament referred to praying to anyone other than God. None.
So the Roman Cathlic Doctrine is errant, and is full of the traditions that make void the word of God.
I hope that this isn't news to you.
Jesus told us how to pray. He said:
Luke 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. etc.
Not Mary.
Mary, I would expect will return. As it is written:
Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
I would expect her to be with the rest of the saints, but the focus is on the Lord Jesus. Not Mary.

I don't agree - those who believe in prayer are usually stronger and find solace in the act of praying, especially during adversity. It doesn't matter if the Virgin Mary were to become a physical presence, it is the faith of the person who prays that matters and how they learn from adversity.
Those who don't pray or have a moral anchor drift through life without purpose or meaning. Which is the better course? It is up to each individual to decide for themselves.

I'm always amazed at the ignorance of some people.
Faithful men and women have been asking the Blessed Virgin Mary to intercede for them with her divine son, since the day after Jesus ascended to heaven.
People continue to do so today, because those prayers have always been answered.
We have every reason to believe that Mary is presently alive and in heaven with her divine son, and that he would gladly grant whatever request she makes of him, simply because she is his mother, and she rightly deserves that honor.
Why would Jesus, whose primary commandment is love, treat his mother with anything but the utmost love, respect, and honor?
Why would the Blessed Virgin, who spent her entire existence supporting her divine son's work, refuse to help anyone who asked her assistance, today?
Jesus empowered Mary and allowed her to do these things when he was alive on earth with her.
What has changed, now that they are in heaven?
If anything, her human limitations have been lifted, and her power to assist the faithful has increased, according to the will of God, who chose her to be the mother of Jesus, before the foundation of the world.
If we have to send every prayer request through Jesus, why did he give us the "Our Father" which requires us to do no such thing?
Certainly, God is quite comfortable designating little "chores" to be done for him by the faithful, whether they are alive here on earth, or alive with him in heaven.
Those who fail to properly understand and appreciate this great gift from God are sadly missing out on more than they can imagine.

It wasn't very nice of the man to scream at her. And hey, if the old woman is 2000 years old, maybe she knows something we don't =)

Yep, her son is coming...no Mary won't be holding his hand when he comes. I'm afraid the woman's prayers are falling on deaf ears but if it gives her hope, what's wrong with that.

If she is expecting Mary (the mother of Jesus) to come and help her, I would say she is mistaken.
Mary is not super-human. She does not have the power to listen to millions of simultaneous prayers (unlike God who has the power to do so).
Cordially,
John

Things changed when God sent his only Son, can you imagine it when He sends His only Daughter?
