Currently I have four cats. Of those four cats, one farts occasionally, one farts rarely. I have not noticed the other two fart. The one that farts occasionally farted quite frequently when he was a kitten, which was cute the first time, but when he waited until his butt was in my face at bed time to do this, the humor wore off quite quickly. It is rare to actually hear a cat fart, but it is not rare to smell a cat's fart. I have only heard a cat fart once and I've had cats all my 39 years!

Yes, it's true a cat can fart. But let me tell you from personal experience, you don't want to be holding it when this happens, unless you happen to be wearing a really good gas mask. Believe me , there is nothing else quite like that experience.

I have 1 cat that farts occasionally - it's rank for sure! I think I read somewhere that it's caused by them eating or drinking too fast - but don't quote me on that.
When she was a bit younger, Missy would fart every time she would jump up on something or some one. We'd joke that it was jet propulsion for her!

Yes and it's the funniest damn thing you've ever seen (or smelled, I should say). My cat used to do it all the time when he was a kitten. You couldn't hear anything but it could smell bad enough to clear a room. It was the funniest thing. How such a bad smell could come from a cute little kitten with an innocent look on his face! He grew out of it as he got older. Too bad, it was really *&^%$&* funny!

Yes! Cat farts are da worst! You don't hear them they just creap up on you. They'll be sitting in your lap lookin' all innocent and stuff and then out of no where it hits you and you want to pass out! And when you say Uuhh and push them off they look at you like "what's your problem?" lol

Actually there is scientific evidence that cats cannot fart. A cat releasing gas would puncture its spline and lungs. Cats do not build gas because they have a one way digestive tract. It goes in and poops out. Thats why cats have hard poop

cats have gas just like all living and breathing animals and humans.
it can depend on the diet and digestion. if is excessive i suggest to talk to the vet about it, it might be serious, and vet can suggest what you are feeding the cat
