Does he hate his own child that much or what?? If he says that to the daughter, what does that mean or imply?? And what to do about that?

Why is there such a threat though? Also, the mother has passed away when she was small and the father has remarried. The father also has many health problems...But, the father seems to get upset with the daughter easily and say things like that..

What is meant by sick in his head? Is he mentally ill or what??

He's obviously sick in the head. If the daughter is an adult, she can make an adult choice to interact with such a wacko on only the most basic and necessary of levels.

Of course, adult daughter truly needs to mean "adult" (as in living on own) to pull off keeping that kind of emotional distance.

In any event, a threat from my father to kill me for any reason would probably be enough for me to not talk to him again.

My dad did the same thing to me when I was around 17. He chased me down with a rake and said he was going to kill me. I had to lock myself in the bathroom and wait for my mom to come home.
I've never understood why my dad treated me that way. It's been 14 years and I still don't understand.
I don't begin to know what to tell you about what to do?
My dad said if he was ever arrested because of us, he would beat us when he got out of jail. I don't know what to do either.
