no the iud will not hurt your partner, but depending on your partners length you may have to go back to the doctor and get the strings cut back a bit because if they are too long they poke him and tickle him while you guys are having sex. But if he does not say anything about it then your iud is fine. But no it will no hurt him.

I don't know much about IUD's, but my wife took the once every 3 months Depo shot after the birth of our first child and it caused a lot of problems, all of which I won't go into. The biggest issue it's seemed to cause is difficulty conceiving a 2nd child. After the first year of trying, with no luck, we searched the web and found so many people having the same problem. In some cases, it was taking 2-4 years to get pregnant again.

You might search the web for specific forums/websites dedicated to birth control and see if there are any side effects the doctors don't mention. Had she/we known about this then, she would have stuck to the once a day pill.

IUD is inserted into the uterus through the cervix. The man's penis cannot reach upto the uterus and hardly manages to make it up to the cervix so he won't be able to feel at all. However if you are planning to get a IUD inserted, make sure its by a proper Gyanecologist and go during the last few days of your period so that your cervix is soft and the IUD will be easier to insert.
