I decided to calculate my BMI by the formula I found in Shape magazine. The formula is your current weight times 730. Then, you divide that number by your height in inches. Next, you divide that number by your height in inches again.

After I did this, I decided to see what my BMI was from my BMI calculator I bought. You hold it out in front of you.

The difference is about 5-7%. The formula told me I was overweight, but the BMI calculator told me I was obese.

My question is, which should I believe? The formula or the calculator?

I just use the online one at the below link.
Doesn't really matter if you're overweigh or obese in how you lose weight. Diet and exercise either way.

It doesn't really matter. Does it matter to you? Either way you should lose some weight. Just lose what you can to make you comfortable and increase you health. Most things I've read say that a 10% decrease in weight for an overweight person can cause remarkable differences is disease risk.

bmi calcutors are very inacurate they don't take in2 acount body fram size and it pressume almost all ur weight is fat!!

if u feel healthy then don;' worry about it why do u think anerica is on teh increase! becasu people are being told they have 2 visble spine and ribs b4 they look gd well taht is far from the truth mor ecurvy gals is sexy!!

instead of answering the question you should be figuring out a good exercise routine and eating some fruits and veggies.
