Since muscle weighs more than fat,a person that weighs more than me shouldn't be fat its just that they have more muscles. i'm underweight and have very few muscles but much more fat.Should i still be gaining since i'm underweight?

What they consider "underweight" now is crap. They consider my weight underweight, but I have a small frame. I eat normal and do not look underweight at all. As long as you are healthy and not skipping meals, you're fine. Maybe you should start working out to gain a little muscle, and besides, it's just good for your over-all health.

Muscle does weigh more than fat. You should start an exercise program on your own at home. It doesn't take much to start burning off the fat and building muscle. Fatty tissue does not change into muscle! You must decrease the fat and build the muscles. Changing the way that you eat can help a lot, too. I'm not talking about a diet of any kind, just eating foods that are good for you and avoiding the ones that aren't. I hope this helps.

Yes, someone who weighs 150 and is all muscle would be smaller and look better than someone who weighs 130 and is very flabby.
Instead of focusing on your weight, you should be doing strength-training exercises to build up your muscles. Muscles make your metabolism go up so that will eat up your fat.

You should only gain weight if you want to gain weight (except for extreme cases of eating disorders).

BTW to settle all the misconceptions... MUSCLE WEIGHS 22% MORE THAN FAT (GIVEN THE SAME VOLUME). NOT "TWICE" AS MUCH BUT 1.22 TIMES AS MUCH.

BTW if you decide to gain weight then do yourself a favor and do some weight training while you gain weight so you can gain some good muscle.

in case you have been 5'9" like i became at sixteen and weighed 103 pounds then yeah which would be seen relatively skinny, yet once you're 5'a million" then your weight sounds approximately top. i'd'nt call you skinny. yet you are able to examine web pages to income what's a common weight that corresponds on your weight and top.

I think it's more about body content/quality, than body quantity. You don't want to get fatter, but you do want to be muscular, which may be a higher number on the scale. Fat weighs more than muscle.

I personally dont believe so... If you like the way you look without the weight dont gain any....

It's all about our BMI. Google it.

"Fat" is just a word. "Overweight" and "obese" are better descriptors. So stop saying "fat".
