However many you need-- personally I eat 5 or 6 smaller meals if possible. That way I'm not starving by the time a big meal comes along, that can cause you to overeat and tricks your body into storing more fat since it thinks it's being starved. 5 or 6 smaller meals keeps your energy up, too!

several small healthy meals are better than 3 major ones. also, its best for your metabolism if you eat at least a small something when you first get up. shows your body that you arent staving it, otherwise your metabolism will be slower. drink LOTS of water, with at least a drop of real lemon juice in it (its healthy and will keep you from retaining the water). also dont eat past 6pm (or 3 hours before you go to bed.) these small changes can make a BIG difference.

It depends on how you feel, how much you eat, and on your weight. Ballpark a healthy diet runs between 1500-2000 calories, and about 3 meals a day. Note that not all calories are the same, you should balance your meals with nutricious ingredients keeping sugar, salt and fat in check.

Will vary with the built and requirements of the person.
but an average person should have atleast 3 meals per day and breakfast being the most important and balanced one out of the three

Technically you're suppose to eat 6 times a day. A balance breakfast, something eat a few hours later (small snack) then a small healthy lunch, another small snack later, then a balanced dinner and then something around 8ish but it has to be really small.
Eating like that keep your metabolism.

For people who are hypoglycemic....every two hours with protein or complex carbohydrates. Things like a chunk of cheese, nuts, yogurt for the time between ones 3 major meals.

since the tummy starts to get empty after 6 or 7 hours, i guess 3...but of course, you can vary your meals or diet, based on your appetite.
It is probably a good idea to have some basic things that keep your body fueled during the waking hours(unless you can eat while you sleep...(hmmm..... ;)

experts say that its better to eat small meals every 3 hrs through out the day, instead of 3 large ones, because this will speed up your metabolism.
