Christmas isn't really Christian...

Christmas originates from Pagan traditions. They were characterized by: human sacrifice; widespread intoxication; going from house to house while singing naked; rape and other sexual license; and consuming human-shaped biscuits (still produced in some English and most German bakeries during the Christmas season).

Christmas was actually banned throughout Europe for some time due to it's ties with Pagan traditions and human sacrifice.

In any case, it's back now. Praise the Lord, I guess.

To answer your question, most atheists do the same as Christians. Get together with family, eat too much food and spend too much money on presents.

LOL Mythmas! I haven't heard it put that way before.

Spend time with my family, give gifts, and write e-mails to Bill O'Reiley that make him go on a rant about how Christmass is being attacked.

I also normally work over the holiday so that the christians can have a few days off for their holiday.

I think this is a good question, BUT couldn't it have been asked a little politer!?

I don't know much about Atheists, but I assume they don't celebrate a holiday that celebrates the birth of Christ, whom they do not believe in.

Perhaps they do spend time with friends and families, but I'd hope that they wouldn't accept any gifts and such, because wouldn't that be contrary to their beliefs?

I dunno... Jehovah's Witness do not celebrate any holidays either, but I knew many who gladly accepted gifts for their birthdays and for Christmas, and such. Kind of hypocritical if you ask me!

Since xmas is more of a consumer holiday that promotes spoiling and greed, I have no problem with it. Plus, it gives us a three or four day weekend.

Plus, it's more of a pagan holiday anyway. Worship more trees.

I used to get into it and put up a tree and decorate and everything (well everything but go to church and worship Jesus) but now that I'm a little older I just exchange gifts with family and friends, the economy needs all the help it can get.

We decorate an evergreen tree with little figures of centaurs, unicorns, dragons, demons, angels, pixies, vampires, griffons, kitsunes, satyrs, nymphs, elves, etc.

Assuming you're talking about christmas....

I spend it with my extended family....aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, in-laws.... They celebrate a christian holiday, and I celebrate getting to see my extended family. With some of them, it's the only time of the year I get to see them.

hmmmmmmmmm , likely the same things most people do, use it as an excuse to over eat and drink booze, it always amazed me that people think of a religious holiday as a reason to get plastered and act like an azz at parties.

Most atheists use it to celebrate capitalism like most Christians do.
