I'v been on doing internet dating for a few months and I haven't run into anyone interesting, well they seemed interesting while chatting or on the phone, but in person they either did not look like their pictures or just turned out to be jerks.
There doesn't seem to be that many quality men here in the Detroit area.

Yea I'm right here. The whole problem I see with the whole internet dating thing (both men and women) is that it is so easy. You look through a list of pictures and profiles armed with your shopping list and make decisions based on a little info. You go out and if the person doesn't seem to fit just right no matter, you can have another date lined up again and again. No just meeting someone, catching your eye and having to go through the steps to win her over. The differences and the process of getting there is what makes for a great relationship. The guy you are looking for doesn't need to be on a dating site, he knows a lot of people by having a sucessful social and work life. He is fine being alone because he is comfortable in his own skin and able to meet people in person and just be out there. Though I have taken this previously with a grain of salt and avoided it I not to long ago was told by a friend that he knew the perfect person for me and that we had to meet. She is busy on her career and hasn't had time to date and I am the same. Someone who I would never have met without a personal reference. Turns out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. Within an hour we both just knew that this was it and I felt every wall drop and was stunned by the way I felt. Point is if the internet thing isn't working make some new friends outside of your social circle. Go out, have fun and eventually you'll just meet someone. Quality guys are everywhere you just have to find them.
