This is a hot topic among the bible scholar community. It is a widely held thought that the Mark of the Beast referred to the Roman gold coin adorned with the name of Julius Caesar. These coins were marked with the number "666."
As I am sure you know, the Roman Empire seized power over the Jewish Religion and what was to become Christianity, making it a crime punishable by death if caught practicing either religion after Jesus died for our sins. Pilate was a Roman "Deputy," in essence and did not want to run into political Hell should he decide against what the empire wanted. Hence, why Pilate sent Jesus to Herod.
The Roman Empire became such an "evil" empire that Darth Vader would have been impressed at their cruelty toward Faith. The eye gouging, teeth pulling, scourging, death sentence by crucifix so the crows would torture the body by slowly plucking out the eyes of the condemned...things that Joseph Mengele could never even think of during WWII...all used to crush religion/religious practices at the time the book of Revelation was actually being written.
DID YOU KNOW??? the word "Armageddon" means 'to reveal, to pull back the curtain on?' Some scholars today think that the end of days only occurs when each individual dies. Good and Evil fight for the soul and the now dead person experiences their own "Armageddon....I thought that was a very different perspective!

The mark of the beast is going to be a mark on either the forehead or the hand, without which a person living at the time of the tribulation on earth will not be able to buy or sell.
I think it's an educated guess it's going to be some kind of computer chip inserted that has all personal info on it. They're doing that now...for Alzheimer's patients, and of course for pets, so they can be tracked down if lost.

the computer is a machine. The beast is that child molester trying to lure children away from their homes. The computer is simply a tool, like a telephone . It is the evil perpetrators, that use it for their own cowardly actions.

There is so much talk about the mark of the beast that I don't think it will happen, not like that anyway. The devil is too slick for that, most people will be blind sided by his tricks/deceptions

Understand it is not a physical mark!
Like those that are sealed by God it is a mental mark.
Ask a question, do you believe in Christ?
Most that say yes have the seal.
Most that say no have the mark already
Ask of them that say no, Are you working to end Christianity?
of those who say yes have the mark on there hand already!
It is that simple!

The mark will come when everyone is enslaved to the idea that doing this will save money, or everyone is enslaved. Do not bank by computer if your worried about it.
