Now I'm not sure of the exact religions involved but I'm guessing it has to do with Christianity. It never fails, atleast once a week some random guy stops me on the street and trys to pawn off a pamphlet. They apparently want to save me but I have already saved myself. I consider this to be harassment and sometimes it's the same guys who catch me on my way into work. My 2 questions, why do they harass me and can I go to the police about this? I've told them countless times, I have my own beliefs and I am not interested in joining them on their journey. They just aren't getting the hint and it's becoming really annoying to the point where I sometimes want to take the long way into work.

Maybe you should stop hinting and tell them that you are going to tell the police if they don't stop harassing you.

Can you contact the police, ya but I don't know what they can do in you area...it depends on if there are laws against soliciting without a permit and other such things. If they are physically stopping you then is definitely some form of harassment. So, ya, call the police station and ask what can be done about those people. If nothing can be legally done, make up some little pamphlets to hand them which discuss your worldview (or maybe something that will scare them like Satanism)....they won't like receiving those so it will probably make them avoid you in the future.

Well, this is weird, but I can pretty much guarantee that they will NEVER bother you again if you put on a little "play" for them. Here's what you do: tell them with a straight face (this ruse depends on this so you may have to practice) that you can't join them because your lord and master Satan says you shouldn't. Even though YOU know its complete and utter B.S., they won't, they will be frightened of you, and they will leave you alone. Or, try pepper spray - they'll get the message fast!

Just tell them you're a Satanist and don't take the pamphlet. God knows the truth so don't worry about that. I used to do that to the JW's that came to the door, guess I got put on a list because they don't come here any more!

I have had a simeler problem to , but the ones who were bothering me finaly got the hint. even thow i kind of had to be roud. but if they dont leve you alone i would tell them that the devil will come for them if they dont leve you alone . that should work. but i thought i would just see if that would help any it did for me.

guys in black suits and white shirts? mormons, its their sole job for a year of their life to live in groups and do this, sure it makes everyone crazy, but they live on nothing and dont get a cent for doing this, its like something you have to do for the church, so, just take the paper and tell them you are running late. i know its a pain in the pants but they arent going to rape you or anything.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm surrounded by missoinaries where I live and it's so annoying. I don't want to be saved! I want to be me. You only need to be saved if you're gonna die and I won't die anytime soon.

I would tell them they are not following Christ when they do harass you and in doing so they are hypocrits.
