What I find is that just being yourself is the most important thing. Otherwise he could feel interrogated. I am not sure what your relationship with this Gentleman is ? I would imagine that you have feelings for this guy.
I worked with Asian people. I found that the worst thing to do is push any matters with Asian people. Everything has to do with pride and shame. If you shame some one who is Asian. The chances are that they would never talk to you again.

To be honest, me being an asian men won't date a black woman now, but i was not attracted to white women before too, so men's taste of women may change over time

i don't think it has to much to do with ethnicity. He's intimidated because youre a dominant woman like any other man. But incorporating the asian/black in it, i think asian men tend to believe that in a relationship, the man is strong and protective and the girl is frail and waif. I see it in my parents who are korean and other asian men who look for girls who are cutsey and weak. Try giving him a typical manly task like, having him open a jar of pickles for you, or screech at a spider compliment his muscles(whether or not he has them). Whatever happens, good luck!

If the Asian man was born in the U.S. or has come here since he was very young, most likely you can just approach and talk to him. But if he's a typical Asian, (i.e. his Eng is not so good or especially if he's about 40 or 50), chances are he won't be very responsive when you try to talk to him.

Oh oh! I'm Asian. I can only tell u it's going to b real hard. Asian men tend to b real MCP's (sad to say this of my kind) bcos it's more of a culture thing. N traditionally, the women tend to b v subservient, tho this is changing quite rapidly. Mayb try in another 10-20 yrs?

encourage him, reaffirm to him that he is a man, not a lesser person. Compliment him. Basically it's just finding ways of making him more confident in himself.

well, if he thinks that you are dominant, start by talking to him in a gental tone, that will make him think that you aren't threatening, but you'll still seem intimidating, if your taller than him, DO NOT WEAR HIGH HEELS!!! this will intimidate him further. if you start a conversation where he is given a place that he simply must respond to, he will, but make him think that you are an equal, not superior, and by far not inferior as well, don't be afraid to put him in his place either.
