People believe what their peer group pushes onto them. It is frightening (take a look at some of the answers here in this forum) for people to think that they may have latched onto the wrong god or that someone else may have something going for them. In The Simpsons' terms "The folks over in Shelbyville are nuts!"
All religions have a grain of truth in them. All evolved to take care of people who realized that the ultimate answer to life is death. We see funerary offerings in Cro-magnon burials and later; thus, we can suppose that religion was around way back then - at least a belief in the afterlife where food, tools, and jewelry might be useful.
Zeus has His uses and still has His followers. Allah is certainly not the same God as Yod Heh Vav Heh - ask any Christian fundamentalist. Recently The Flying Spaghetti Monster has gained an enormous tentacle-hold on the conscienceness of the Internet community.
Why argue? It is like two young boys fighting over who has the best imaginary playmate, IMNSHO. Let each and every one worship or not worship as is their preference. It is when worship becomes warship, that I object.
And to those who say we have climbed Mt. Olympus and not found anyone: the physical evidence for any God is pretty darned slim. I would look in my heart first and then acknowledge that my neighbor has the right to look into his. Afterall, where did Yod Heh Vav Heh go when the Ark was stolen? What about when Herod's temple was destroyed?
Peace

Because we have climbed to the top of Mt. Olympus and nobody was there. The Greeks believed that their gods existed within the scope of the universe. The monotheistic (and especially Christian) God exists as the creator of the universe, and therefore stands outside it.

In burma they call him Tha Jar Min but not many of them really knows them beside monks and even they knows very little about him. But i think some hindu monks may knows about it. After all Zeus came from hindu gods after the cultural diffusion between greece and asia. PS i m sorry if i offended anny one in anny way. Trust me i study religions and cultures.

Faith has no name. You believe whatever you want to believe. Don't ever let anyone tell you what to think. Form your own opinions and live by your own moral compass.

every religion has it's "one true god".... just ask any of them.
Therefore: no religion has it right.
Conclusion: Find your own spirituality and stop feeding the power hungry money grubbing organizations that are obviously selling lies.
