Hello everyone,

I have a 4 months old ragdoll kitten who I imported from Australia. The thing is, he has been sneezing 3-4 times a day ever since I got him. He has settled in pretty good but he's still sneezing. Yesterday he sneezed again and slept for 8 hours and once he woke up he started coughing a bit. What would that be?

I sounds like it may be feline calicivirus or feline herpesvirus. Both are upper respiratory infections and cannot be spread to humans or other animals. A vet visit is in order to get antibiotics to treat it.

URTI - upper respiratory tract infection

very common - keep an eye on him as it can develop into pnemuonia or can become cronic (never go away)
make sure he is eating well - a dry food with chicken or lamb is best...
feeding small amounts of canned chicken and rice 2-3 x a day will help him get over it.. but not too much canned

see a vet if he sneezes blood or gets mucous from nostils alot or starts mouth breathing

Take your kitten to the vet, there are many things it could be. Even vaccinated cats can get viruses that they're innoculated against, just not as severe.

He may have allergies to something in the environment or the food. Only a vet can properly diagnose the problem.

Congrats on your new baby
Sounds like kennel cough. Their is a new strain out their that the vaccines dont protect against. Take her to the vet and get her some meds.
Best of Luck

Check your kittens eyes, if they are red and swollen under the lid.then it is probably cat flu.You need to see a vet to get the right medication.

your kitten could have a infection, take kitten to vet right away, a kitten's system can not handle this and you might lose her without medical attention. a good rule to go by it is better to be wrong than sorry let the vet examine your baby please,
