My father had a stroke that affected his memory. Since then over the past year, he has days where he will be doing something and all of a sudden he has a bad taste in his mouth and feels nautious and even tries to burpe. He usually gets disoriented when this happens also. His memory gets worse during this time. He will have several episodes of this. He also is losing his way when he drives, but then the next day can remember where he is going with no problem. His doctor does not seem concerned but I am. Has anyone experienced seeing someone in this state before? And, any suggestions?

Dementia is very common after a stroke. This is because blood supply to brain gets gradually decreased and brain tissue lost after the stroke can not regenerate. And then why is he driving?

common with stokes. Disorientation. He needs to be checked out to see if he is not have mini strokes. After my stroke it took me a while to get my thoughts in order. If I am tired my head does not work right and the numbness of my left side returns starting with my face and working its way down. My stroke was cause by an allergic reaction to the dog soap that contains flea killer. It took me a while to figure it out. But that ingredient made me have bleeding under the skin and also I felt like I was bleeding inside. I stopped using it on my dogs.

this may have something to do with a chemical on his brain, may have something to do with the stroke or perhaps you may notice it, since the stroke, I recommend you to check on a neurologist for a check up I know it is expensive but you rather be sure than sorry
