She mixed up some goop and touched up only his grey onthe sides. Brushed the color in, left it sit. Then she left for 20 minutes. Rinsed, etc.

Any time you want to, it is the same as at home. I used to be in the salon business so i know that the products there have the same ingredents as the at home ones.

I usually wait about 24 hours before washing my hair after I color it. Just make sure to use conditioner to keep the hair soft. I've been coloring for years and have never had a problem with washing it 24 - 48 hours later. I think it's mostly with a perm that you can NOT wash your hair for several days.

When I used chemical colour, I waited as long as I could before I washed my hair. I felt it gave the colour more time to set. Usually two or three days, whatever I could get away with before my hair just looked and felt too grungy.
