Find yourself a labrador retreiver forum and talk to some of the nice people on there. Not all dogs should be bred. This is not something to take lightly, even if you wont have to deal with the care of the puppies. CF made some great points.
If your lab is indeed registered, it should be from a breeder. Contact your breeder and get some info. Do not breed a pet store dog... you don't know that they have any registration, really... and you don't know anything about their health or genetics.

I have a golden retriever and we want to breed her, what I did was call ppl who had ads in the paper for puppies for sale...it would have been alot easier if someone had an ad for a stud, but there were none! I found a lady who wanted $500..I found another person who would take pick of the litter or $100...Keep in find that these pups (and I would imagine Labs) sell for alot when registered! Between $300-400!.

ok just because he is registered doesnt make him suitable for a stud dog...
he should attend shows and accumulate points - he needs to prove he is an excellent example of the breed worthy of passing on his genetics
(either conformation shows or working shows)
THEN you will have the owners of female dogs approach YOU.. what you do now is simple if the female is a good dog (lots of show titles) then she would be a good one to breed him to for less.. because her pups will help promote him as a stud...
ads in dog magazines are the best adverts
no dog who hasnt proven they are worthy of breeding should EVER be bred
oh.. also he should be checked by a vet for breeding purposes (including hip dysplasia)

For a yellow lab you are probley looking at like no more than 200 unless you have titled the dog in something and have had genetic testing done on him. Then you could ask more. Best of luck

dont breed your dog unless he is show quality or field champion
there are too many out there already, over 300,000 dogs are destroyed each year due to not enough homes
