We don't interupt or interfere. We uphold the law .. People call us and we respond. With no knowledge of what we're getting into. But we know this and still do are job. Given, no one is perfect and not all cops are as professional, but this goes for everyone in all catergories...but as a cop, you're looked at differently. Either way, we don't interupt or interfere we protect and if it means having to kick some *** in order to restore order and go home alive... then so be it. Live one day in my shoes and you'll understand ..

That's their job. They interrupt crimes, they interfere --or intervene-- to help victims of crime. They are involved in the community to prevent crime.
The following is a dictionary definition of "police state":
police state
n.
A state in which the government exercises rigid and repressive controls over the social, economic, and political life of the people, especially by means of a secret police force.
So, living in a state (Texas, in my case) where there are lots of police to deal with crime and such, does NOT make us a "police state."
A lot of ignorant people sure are tossing that word around a lot.
