There are many different religions & cultures. There's an Indian religion (Hindu I think) that can have over one millions gods. Religion is a human artifact, but religion is common to all cultures, which make is very interesting.
The three main mono-theist religions all worship the same God i.e. Judaism, Christianity & Islam all worship the same guy.
This is why religion is interesting, it's about beliefs and culture, not maths or science. Just enjoy your own religion via prayer or meditation, and respect and admire other religions.

God doesn't come from religion. Religions are created in humanity's attempts to understand God. There are so many religions because there are so many different environments in which a religion can develop. There is still only one God, but some people (like myself) see It as a many-faceted entity, and each facet may have a different name. Others see It as one singular, all-powerful Being (Yahweh, Allah, Jehovah). Others still really do see many separate deities, but there is one BIG God in charge of the others.
It all is a matter of perspective...

It is very easy there is no God to some others believe in many Gods.
In the long run it comes down to one thing how do you feel what do you believe in.
If you could study the Bibles around the world or the teaching sent down the life line in some places it seems in most cases the stories are similar to one another.
Most wanting peace.
It comes down to you how you feel on one religion over another and pray.
Hope you figure it out
Good luck

Every religion has there own concept of God. Nobody knows if there is in fact a god or what kind of god it is or may be. We can only guess or assume but the best version of a god I have read about is in the series of books titled "Conversations with God", by Neale Donald Walsch. These books are about a god who loves us unconditionally, which is the kind of god I want. I am not interested in the judgmental, jealous and revengeful god of the bible. No thank you!

i'm a firm believer that if you are going to be religious, you also need to accept the fact that when you die, you could just be wrong.
so when you die you run into one of the following:
1. nothing is there
2. one god is there and
2a. you picked correctly
2b. you didn't pick correctly
2c. you didn't pick correctly, but were basicaly a good person and that just happens to be what kind of god there is so you are in.
2d. you picked the correct god, but your branch of worship didn't do every single thing he said to in which case you might go back to 2c, or he is very strict and you are out of luck.
3. there are many gods and you picked and followed one correctly
3a. there are many gods and somehow you missed them all.
so IF there is one and only one god, then everyone out there with their various religions have different takes on what he likes and doesn't like and are going on faith that they are right. that means it then depends alot on how god works, if he is more like the old testament god, then he is probably very strict, in which case alot of people (maybe all) are out of luck when they die...on the other hand, if he is more like, "hey whatever, you tried, didn't do exactly what i asked, but its cool" then everyone gets into heaven provided they at least were in the general practice concept that god has.
so god doesn't exactly have to serve double duty every night...

Here's my opinion- Religion is false. Yes, I believe in a God, but I don't think we can ever really know everything about God. There is a base idea behind all religions that is very similar. I think that is the truth-- that there is a greater power. BUT mankind has altered the truth so much that everybody has their own little version to fit them.

Each religion is really there own interpretation of god, Jesus Allah or zus, there all the same. Its the interpretation that. When learning a religion you cant interpret them to mean literary, but rather symbolical.
If you interpret all the religions of the world symbolically, you would be amazed to see how similar they are.

Sure. There is only one "true" God. I believe the only real God is the God of the bible. And I believe the claims of Jesus Christ that He is the only way to the Father. The bible says dozens of times, there are no other (real) Gods than Him.
That renders all other gods false. In psalms, there is a verse about false gods, who have eyes, but cannot see, ears, but they cannot hear, mouths but they cannot speak. Look at the idols of other religions, you will see this verse demonstrated.
The true God hears, sees, loves. He neither slumbers nor sleeps, and knows us down to the secret recesses of our hearts.

God doesn't actually have a religion. All relgion is man made. God is not. God is spirit the bible says. He isn't relgious. The bible says he is light, love, just and truth.
It also says he is no respecter of persons.
I do not follow religions. I follow the word of God. I follow in the footsteps of my Lord Jesus Christ.
