I got a truancy ticket about a month before i turn 18. And i didnt pay the fine or go to court. And ive heard that once you turn 18, your record gets cleared. Is it also true that if you have a ticket and you havent paid and you try to get your drivers permit at the DMV, it will show up???

I believe that it is all "solved" cases will be sealed.

If you still have a fine out there then one of two things can happen.
One you can not get your license until you do.
If you are pulled over at any time for anything and they run your dl number.....it will show a misdemeanor warrant for non pymt of fines and it is ........ hi ho, hi ho off to jail you go.

call the county clerks office and ask how much and where to pay.
If I were you, I would send a friend in to pay it.........lol

They don't get "cleared"; they get "sealed". The difference - you still owe on them, but no one will have access to them. No one will ever be able to go back into your background and find out that information. But you still have to pay the fines, or risk contempt of court charges, which means more fines, and being over 18 now, you could also go to jail. You may want to take care of those tickets.

Sorry the answer would be no if you had committed an adult crime. In most states the age is under 16 to be charged as a juvenile. In Georgia when you turn 17 you are charged as an adult. It probably want be on your record because it is a juvenile crime. You can legally quit school in Georgia at 16, so it wouldn't actually be a crime. So its possible that the truancy ticket is just baloney and not enforceable. So you should have no record. You can't make an adult go to school.

Truancy is an act that is committed by a minor-----if you were given a fine and did not pay the fine--it will not clear---Once you clear the fine----your juvenile act should be cleared

As a general rule, criminal matters are sealed. However, DMV matters are administrative, not criminal, so you are stuck with your driving record. I am not certain what a truancy ticket is. But if you went to court and a fine was levied, you should pay the fine. The courts generally talk to DMV so if you have outstanding fines, DMV may suspend all actions until you satisfy your obligations to the courts,

If you raped are other crimes, then its okay in the eyes of the state. But traffic citations and not appearing in court is serious to them. You never had a license to begin with,so I don't see how it can matter.Your not a criminal. These are two different matters.
