Join the Navy!! Any passing score on the ASVAB will get you in the door. Even if your score isn't high enough, you can train to do what you want. But remember, that just because that is what you want to do doesn't mean that you will. I wanted to be a pilot, scored in the top 3% in the country and still did not get to be a pilot. Make your choices wisely. Congrats on the decision. I think that is great.................... Good Luck

Ok the chick above me is a bit of a liar since only officers can be pilots and they dont have to take ASVAB. Talk to a recuiter and find out what the minimal score is for your chosen job. Then make absolutley sure to tell them that is what you want to do and be unwavering in that do not sign a think without that being you NEC. Youll go in as a Corpsman you will go to navy bootcamp and when you are taken under the combat medic program you will go train with the marines.

Hi hun and thank you in advance. I do not expect your 10 points. Not in it for that. I can only tell you what I know. My son was Army. Prior to his enlistment he was already and EMT for the fire department. He went through the same basic training as everyone else in the Army. He had to qualify for all categories.
He was then sent to fort Sam Houston Texas for his AIT. Which is where he received advanced training as a medic. He like you wanted this particular training. I imagine you like he want to be there because you want to help our troops. It's a special kind of person that goes in to that field. He like you wish to be was a front line medic. He was awarded his CMB combat medic badge, in Iraq. He preformed surgery on the battle field. Here are 2 rules that you will always need to remember though. Rule number 1 in war people die, rule number2 you can't change rule number 1. What you want to do is very admirable. It does come at a very high price though. Watching people die and not being able to stop that is not easy for a combat medic. Make sure you are as prepared as possible before you get into it.

thank you again for your choice.

the recruiter can tell you specifically what your line scores need to be in order to qualify for HM. Yes, you would go through Navy Boot camp, then A school( also in Great Lakes) and then, if picked up( andif you are male, your chances are about 99%) you would go to FMSS(Field Medical something School) and learn how to play with the Marines.

oh, and in the Navy..It's NEC, not MOS.

you need about a 50 afqt, and cannot have any drug waivers needed. you will go through navy boot camp, HM A school, then FMF (fleet marine force) training, which is run by the marines. The navy guarentees the HM rating in your contract, and since there is a shortage of fmf HM's then just ask and they will make you one.
