There is not nearly enough information here to even tryt to guess a diagnosis... This person could have conflicting feelings about you that cause the shifts in their behvior towards you. If you have real trends, I'd 1) ask other people who know this person if they also see the same things. 2) If you have a good enough relationship with this person, definitely have a frank conversation about their odd behavior. You have the responsibility to draw the boundaries around yourself about what is acceptible to you and what isn't. This person clearly crosses those boundaries, and you have to decide how to handle the transgression. Does a real friend do that after you've explained how it made you feel?

Is the person on street drugs. People on street drugs very often act like any of the above. Any way you should talk your friend into going for counseling. and if the person falls into any of those categories, psycopath or schizophrenic maybe you need to find another friend. Look up each of those on the Internet. But this person really needs some professional help

Psycopath? Yes. Schizophremic? No. Bipolar? Yes. Mean and controlling? Definately. But not all in one person, that would be too much. Goodluck with your friend.

I don't think it's up to you to determine that. If your friend is suicidal, your friend needs to see a professional.
Even if you DID correctly identify what was wrong with them, there's nothing you could do about it yourself-- and it sounds like your friend needs treatment.
