I have my picks, what are yours?

All above mentioned deserving of honors, no doubt.

The edge, in my opinion, goes to Seattle Slew.

On an all-around evaluation, he stands out for nine consecutive wins, beginning with the Maiden race (I was there, I have the program). A slow start, and he still won by 3.

Earned about a hundred million dollars for his owners, who picked him up for $17,500.00 at a sale.

Very few horses can boast as much as this great stallion did.

His uniqueness stands out in my memory for his general appearance of great inner strength, and he flaunted it by doing a dance in post parade that was, as the yahoos say, awesome.

My first impression as they led him out as a two year old on the day of his maiden race, was this was a real horse, one I could jump on his back and do wonders with, perhaps even conquer the world with.

It is said that they offered a hundred grand for him soon after that first victory.

No doubt, a very special and beautiful racing specimen.

Secretariat definately. Winning a race by 31 lengths is amazing in itself but when you think that the Belmont is one of the longest races in flat racing (mile and a half) then it just makes that feat look so much better. I have seen the footage of the race. No horse in the world could have beaten him in that race. He probably could have put more lengths on that number if his jockey had really pushed him. Secretariat was also a gorgeous horse. If you look at his photos, he shines like the sun.

The greatest I ever saw (and I was lucky enough to see him in person) was Secretariat...perhaps some (and I certainly respect anyone who chooses Man'O'War) horses might have better all-time records, but when Secretariat was on, he was absolutely incredible (remember the Belmont...perhaps the single most amazing run ever)...and he was also probably the most beautiful horse I've ever seen...was also lucky enough to see him in the walking ring on occasion

joey blue eyes: you are a complete ignorant moron. You obviously know absolutely nothing about horse racing.

The answer is Secretariat, maybe Man o War, but since Sec ran on the turf and did outstanding, Id have to say him.

I would say Cigar. Won 16 races in a row, one of which was the first ever Dubai World Cup.
