This is far too complicated to answer in a brief way. Sometimes upgrading part of your computer is a complete waste of time if the other parts are too obsolete or simply won't work with the new parts. There are video cards that are so powerful that you have to have a processor and enough RAM to make them work. And upgrading a processor may mean you also need a new motherboard. And don't forget the power supply which becomes extremely important as you add more components. What you need to do is visit a forum where issues such as these are discussed. You can browse the different areas (CPUs, video cards, motherboards, memory, etc) or just post a question. They are always filled with very knowledgeable and friendly people. Here are some good places to go.

first go check that all hardware is compatible you got to make sure that everything will work fine first before making any change... my son just upgrade his video card, motherboard, power supply and fans now he has a monster instead of a regular computer and he also custom the case...i wish you good luck... have fun..

First of all you need to find out if your system will support the new card. Is the processor big enough? Do you have enough ram? Do you have the proper slot you need for the card? Check out cards, Match their requirements with your system. If you arent sure, give me the manufacturer and model number of your system.
