Yes, that is normal.
The pain you might hurt later on today or sometime tomorrow it just truely depends on how high your pain tolerance is and if you are a complainer.
As for the tasting wierd, yes the metal will make your mouth taste like metal or someother thing. The rubber might also make your mouth taste wierd, that along with the metalish taste can produce a wierd taste.
Hope this helps.

no longer something hurts interior the putting on technique, it aches a splash after each and each tightening section, yet no longer lots. On a scale of a million - 10, it relatively is in all probability a pair of four on the main. in case you have no longer been in for a consultation, then you definately do no longer comprehend for a certainty which you heavily isn't wanting braces on the backside. My backside tooth have been suitable, my orthodontist even pronounced so, yet nevertheless, he placed braces on my backside tooth. it relatively is via fact in case you will could placed on elastics at any element for the time of your scientific care (which, you in all probability will) you opt for for backside braces for the elastics to hook to.

Mine tasted weird because of the rubber content. They never hurt and they did the job.
My orthodontist said that I had competent lips! (She meant it in a technical sense, and was taliking to her students at the time).
