First is your son on the birth certificate listing him as the father if so then have him go to the local social services with the child explain to them what is going on and that she abandoned the boy and they will set up an emergency hearing to establish temporary custody until she can be found. However when he does this he needs to be working and make sure he can support the child. If he isn't on the birth certificate then he needs to immediatly go to an attorney and file for a paternity test and gt it on record. As far as school goes he will just need to take the birth certificate, shot record, and social security card and register him they don't ask for custody agreements. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

You don't need legal custody to register a child for school. Just call the principal of the school where the child will be going and ask how to register the child and what documents you need to do that. Usually all you need is to prove that you live in that school district. If you wish to seek legal custody you need to speak with Legal Aid or a lawyer or to social services in your town.

Does she have sole custody due to divorce? If so, you can go to court and get custody. If not well your son is the childs father. Take his birth certificate with your son listed as father and register him for school. Simple. Schools do not ask to see if you have custody before registering the child. Just leave the Mother information blank so she can't come to the school to withdraw him.

She could ought to instruct that the mother and dad (the two) are actually unable or unwilling to look after the toddler. And that she could make a extra suited parent than the different direct kinfolk individuals of the toddler. A psychological or actual incapacity of a ability parent is appropriate and could be addressed. however the 1st question may be the flexibility and want of the mother and dad to look after the toddler. elevating your little ones is a constitutional superb suited and finding out to take a toddler from the custody of the mother and dad is a severe action with the aid of any courtroom. And in basic terms completed whilst for sure necessary. as long by using fact the toddler has resided with and been dealt with with the aid of the mother and dad, the grandmother could have no foundation to petition for guardianship.

All the laws are different in states. Were they married? Is he on the birth certificate? In Ca. a man isn't the legal father until there is a paternity test. However if he is on the b. certificate, he has to declare he wants to be her legal father. See a lawyer quick!!!! She could come back and take the child!!! Good Luck

Get a lawyer and get one fast. If your son is his biological father than he could get custody with no problem. Just get legal help in this matter and you and your family should be just fine. Also tell the lawyer that you want to terminate her rights and explain that she specifically said she doesn't want the baby.

Who has custody? What kind of custody? Is it joint?
Dad is still dad, he can get copies of sons Birth Certifciate and SS card.
Seems to me that you can still register him. Good luck

Contact the school and explain (generally) the situation. I would also suggest an attorney specializing in family law issues and yes, you can get one through legal aid if $$ is a factor.
