It's really difficult for someone to lose muscle without losing at least some fat. In fact I highly doubt you gained fat but I DON'T doubt that you lost a lot of muscle. Think about this (be read for some math):
The "average" person has anywhere from 10-25% bodyfat. This means that if you were to take 10lbs of tissue out of the person's body that on average anywhere from 1-2.5lbs of the tissue will be from bodyfat (respectively).
Now let's think about a 150lbs person with 15% bodyfat who goes on a diet:
When he/she starts they have ~22.5lbs of fat and 127.5lbs of LBM (Lean Body Mass, a very large portion of which is from muscle). As I've said before the faster the person loses weight, the higher the proportion of weight lost that will come from muscle. So let's say this person loses 20lbs of tissue and 30% of weight lost is fat while 70% lost is muscle. That's 6lbs of fat lost but also 14lbs of muscle lost.
Let's now look at their recomposition. This person now has 16.5lbs of fat on them and 113.5lbs of LBM. Let's do some math... 16.5lbs / 130lbs = 12.7% bodyfat. That's a lot of weight lost for only 2.3% bodyfat decrease AND THIS PERSON JUST LOST 14LBS OF MUSCLE FOR THIS SMALL DECREASE IN BODYFAT. To be honest this person's definition could decrease and they could look pudgey because they now have less muscle to poke through the fat (which only slightly decreased).

This is why crash diets are not recommended, especially for people looking to maintain their muscles. 14 lbs of muscle is a HUGE amount of muscle to lose, and it would take several months just to get this amount of muscle back (nevermind the fat that would be regained int the process).

The slower the cuts/weight-loss that you do, the smaller the percentage of muscle that is burnt in the process. This is one of the biggest reasons that you don't see too many totally "ripped" people... it's hard to gain muscle and maintain it. It's incredibly easy to gain fat and maintain it though.

BTW this example was assuming that no prohormones were being used. This is also one of the reasons that people often look to prohormones in bodybuilding. Anyway you learned your lesson next time be more careful, patient, and check your plan with other experienced people to make sure it's safe.

You probably just lost all the water in your body, i had the same problem before, you just have to work out (or at least do some sort of exercise to tone up your muscle). Sometimes not trying so hard will actually turn out better!
