You didnt mention how old your daughter was...but in my culture, women from the rural countryside are commonly tatooed. I would sit down and have a frank talk with her about the lasting effects of a tatoo. I would try to sway her decision by asking what type and size of tatoo, and if the tatoo would be normally covered with clothing. She may not like the process after she gets a small one.
Even if my daughter wanted a tatoo, I would be concerned enough to make sure the place that does the work, is clean and sanitary. I met a man who was a weight-lifter in the hospital once. He had new tatoos on each bicep, but the needles were dirty, and he has a horrific infection.

Depends on her age. I think you have to be 18 any way. But if i were you i would support her decision and help her find a reputable place to get it done. Make sure that they are liscensed and certified and that they open a clean needle and equipment in front of you before they start. Also make sure that the ink they use is from an individual pot, not a communal use one. May be this experience could be a good bonding session for the two of you, you could choose something together. Don't look at this as a bad thing, there's plenty worse she could do and at least she's being honest with you about her desires! Good luck and i hope this helps.....

First it depends on her age. If she is over 18 I would not object as long as it was something you as a parent approved of. Next I would make sure that she understands that they are there for life! She needs to put thought into what she could live with the rest of her life on her body. I got my first tattoo at age35 (I thought about it for 5 years before I got it) I now have 3, 2 are "hidden" and one is visible in public (inside my right ankle). She also needs to consider her future employment, some businesses or professions look down on people with visible body art. Just food for thought. And even though I am an adult...my dad HATES my tattoos!

1st of all she must be old enough by law
2ND Id want her to know about the disease side of tattoos aids . tetanus diphtheria hepatitis and countless blood related diseases
3rd that at some time in her life that tattoo will become not so much an eyesore but as an embarrassment I am tattooed and I have tatts that after a few weeks or months contemplation I would not have gotten
4Th If you cant sway her away from it tell her that you want to be there for it and that that is the only way she will ever have your approval . that way you can make sure its tasteful and hidden away when she dresses for special occasions

It depends upon the age of your daughter and what the tatoo is and where she wants it. If she is 16 or older than she should be able to choose in a way. As long as the tatoo is appropriate for your liking. I didn't get a tat until i was in my 20's. I would let my 16 year old get one if I thought it was appropriate.

Depends on her age, what she wants a tattoo of and where she wants it. My daughter is 12 and wants a tattoo. I told her that it was not going to happen until she was 16 and that I would not allow her to get a tramp stamp. I will not allow her to get her belly button or tongue pierced while she needs my consent.

Ask her if she likes the same things today that she did 5 years ago. When she answers, no, then tell her that this tatoo will still be around 5 years from now when she no longer cares about that thing.

I've never liked any thing enough to want to keep it my whole life. I would advise her no and would never ever agree to pay for or consent (if under 18) to such a thing.
