Okay my cousin and I often come to this question when we begin to discuss Heaven and Hell! Being Christian we believe that you make it to the Father through Christ. Still the question is left.. What about the Jews? and we both agree that they are God's chosen people so perhaps they will have grace during judgement for denying Christ as the MESSIAH as prophesied by Isaiah and wont be cast into the depths of despair. Now Judaist and Christians alike answer me this? The covenant which the Lord made with Abraham pertained to a race and not a religion right? The lord made a promise to Abraham's seed, his lienage a promised land for him and his childrens, children, and so forth. This explains Paul over emphasis fo them to throw away the old Law and adapt the new! because after the renewed covenant with Christ we were all to acknowledge the sacrafice of Jesus. So I suppose the what I am digging for is that God promised the Jews the real heritage of Abraham and not the religion promised land

are excused from denying Christ as the Messiah! and also How pure is the Lineage of Abraham, to this current day?
Please excuse any grammatical errors... It's just a forum discussion and I dont want to fight with anyone! I believe
what I believe but I just wanted to throw this out there for more answersTwo Covenants
21 Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, 24 which things are symbolic. For these are the[a] two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar— 25 for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children— 26 but the Jerusalem above is free

which is the mother of us all. 27 For it is written:
“ Rejoice, O barren,
You who do not bear!
Break forth and shout,
You who are not in labor!
For the desolate has many more children
Than she who has a husband.”[b]28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise. 29 But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. 30 Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.”[c] 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free.
. Thanks

You have asked a very good question.

God promised Abraham that a nation and a people would be founded through him, even before he had a child. The Saviour of the world would arise from this nation. Jesus was of that 'nation'. When the word nation is used in the Old Testament read it as a 'people group', it is a closer meaning.

Jesus was born out of that 'people group' and He declared that the salvation for the Jews and the Gentiles was in Himself. We are the benificiaries of that promise of Jesus. The existence of the Jewish people gave rise to the person of Jesus. That was the purpose of God's promise.

Intially the Jews were promised a lad of their own, in peace, if they followed God's covenant with them. There was a contditional gift of the land.

The far better promise was a promise of salvation and the freedom from the old law that could only save through complete and total obedience in every respect.

Paul's declaration of the 'new law' was that of salvation through Christ. How many will be saved? Not 144,000! The bible clearlty teaches that those who called on his name will be saved. Vastly more than 144,000 have done that in human history. The number 144,000 indicates a very large number, just like we say 'millions' today.

Abraham received the a promise that all of the blessings of these covenants would be offered to his mortal posterity. Together, these covenants and promises are called the Abrahamic covenant. The restoration of this covenant was the restoration of the gospel in the last days, for through it all the nations of the earth are blessed.

Paul wrote in Galatians 3:
7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

Jesus said he could raise up a rock to sons of Abraham, so the inheritance of the covenant is not strictly by bloodline.

Abraham had the Gospel taught directly from the Lord. It is God's mercy and justice that may allow those who have not been taught to have an opportunity to hear it and accept Christ after this lifetime.

The bondwoman's relatives are the Muslims. The relatives of Issac are the Jewish people. We must all come to God through the Son Jesus Christ. If you will read further the Bible states that their sacrifices was a stench to God's nostrils. This was due to their idolatry. When the Jewish people finally see that Jesus Christ is the Messiah that was sent as the sacrifice a whole new time will begin.

there is not any scandal. Joseph Smith had 5 scolls. someplace on honestly one of them replaced into the e book of Abraham. He translated the textual content and contributed them to a Museum for the international to scrutinize. Sounds particularly scandalous so a options would not it? The Museum burned to the floor contained in the large Chicago fireplace. Of the 5 scrolls, 3 were thoroughly destroyed. there have been a finished of three fragments found from 2 that remained. with the help of ways, those scrolls were as long as a huge room. some scholars took the three fragments and from those fragments they determined what something else of the textual content must have known like. even besides the undeniable fact that their reviews went right away hostile to the expenses of eye witnesses, they defined what the scrolls could have known like. Now they say that because the images contained in the e book of Abraham are not an similar as what they predicted the images to be, then it can be a fraud. See the region the following??? If there replaced right into a scandal it truly is on the area of the students, no longer the Mormons. you should really learn both area of this one.

This is of the JEWS.
Rom 11:25 For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery, lest you be wise in your own estimation, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles has come in;
Rom 11:26 and thus all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, "THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB."
They were hardened that we should make it in. After us He will go back to the Jews.
He made a covenant and He will not break it.
A good thing they were hardened, if not we wouldn't get in.

I don't know if this answered your question.

I think it did.

In the old testament, the promise to abraham was for the jews and to those who became of the judian beliefs (called proselytes). When Christ came, he was part of the fulfillment of that promise, but he came for the jews. However, when he gave his life it was for everyone. Jews, gentiles all of them. But all the times before the book of acts belong to the old testament ages. One the day of pentecost in acts chapter two, the current age began. This is tha age of grace where God's people are neither jew nor gentile. They are the church (ekklesia - called out) of God. This age was hidden from the old testament people and was not mentioned in the prophecies of scripture. Nor did Christ know about the age of Grace. Because God kept it to himself. So, the covenant with Abraham was actaully to a group of people called Israel. Israel means 'the beloved of God'. It was to God's people that the promise of Abraham applies. Those born again of God today are the age of Grace version of Israel. They are neither jew nor gentile. They are the called out of God. They are also inheriters of the promise to Abraham by their adoption as Sons by God. The reason Paul tells people to throw away the old law is because Jesus Christ fulfilled the law. Therefore we cannot earn righteousness by fulfilling the law. We can only become righteous by Grace (God's divine unmerited favour). We get this by following Roman's 10: 9 and 10. By Confessing Jesus as Lord and believing God raised him from the dead. Then we become born again of god. We receive the gift of holy spirit in us and are a new creation. We then have the righteosuness of god. We are justified which means we gain all the benefit of fulfilling the law but we don't have to fulfill it. Christ did it for us and gained us all the benefits. He also made us heairs to the promise of Abraham. So we gain all the benefits of that promise. And much much more. Religion is man made. The covenants of God are not made to religions or such like. They are made to those who have a genuine love for God and his truth. God never called us out to be religious, he called us out to be his sons, and to stand in for Christ by doing all the things he did such as healing the sick, casting out devils, raising the dead, and preaching the truth of the word of God which is that God raised Christ from the dead so we can be born again and do all the things he did. So all men can be saved and come to a knowledge of God's truth.
Then, when the age of Grace is over, the age of the law will return. The the Israel of old will be reestablished as the priest hood and the rest of the covenant fulfilled as it should be.
Then will come the reign of Christ, the 1000 year reign of the adversary, the armaggeddon, and the destruction of everything as well as the ressurection of the just and unjust. Those who are born again of God do not actually go through all that. They are not judged or anything. Because they are already forgiven as part of being born again, and because they all meet Christ in the clouds at the end of the age of Grace.

This is a very detailed question!

I would strongly recommend that you read Rabbi Telushkin's book "Biblical Literacy". . .available at Barnes & Noble and Borders. . .very well known and highly recommended.

Now. . .for your question:

*G-d's promise to Abraham related to "his seed". . .the Hebrew race (and, even today, there are MANY Jews who are not Hebrews!) Nothing to do with religion!

*The so-called Torah Commandments (613 in total. . .you can read ALL of them in Rabbi Telushkin's book) are between G-d and Abraham's seed. Ironically, Adam, Noah, and Abraham did not have to follow them!

Hope this helps. . .and that your understanding of Paul and his Hebrews epistle is not at risk!

I don't think the Jews will get any special treatment on judgement day
when they did wrong even in the OT they got punished and they will get punished by not recognizing Jesus as the savior

The bible is a work of fiction, which you are attempting to interpret literally. Since it has numerous internal contradictions (as well as hundreds of errors of fact), it is impossible to do so.
