And so we have the sole reason of religion. Money. Money = Power = Control.

Yes It is a scam. Not that the idea of a new religion or there being one is. I am not into the idea of a new religion but just would like to throw that out there. However the idea of one needing the things they claim we all need. And bad mouthing psychology for no real reason. It sounds like they are the ones who need shrinks to me. Being that paranoid must be tough. And why does a church need a giant boat so that the followers can be more "free"? Oh since Tom Cruise seems to be the hot scientology topic of the day, I wish he would sue me for saying he is an idiot. I would love to tell him to his face that he is full of it. And how dare he go attacking people for believing in something he doesn't. You would think that someone who is involved in something that clearly the general public would not understand he would be more calm about the whole thing, you catch more bees with honey, or whatever they say.

No, everyone knows it is. I love L. Ron Hubbard for showing that anyone can make up some bull crap and some one will completely fall for it with no foundation. In 2000 years Scientology might be the next Christianity and the atheists and more logical people will point out it was made by man and is faulty crap and they'll all be like but L Ron said so.

More people think Scientology is a scam to get peoples money than there are Scientologists. Kinda funny.
Since giving a sucker an even break would violate Objectivist doctrine, you should take advanatge of Scientologists at every opportunity. Sell them on great MLM opportunities for example. Borrow their stuff and loan it to a thrid party, borrow their car and run a red light camera.

No. The IRS basically felt that way too, but a Tax Court decided otherwise and the IRS refuses to cite them by name. They are a relgious orgnaization that dates to 1951 in their tax codes.
They won't even give those guys Lip service!
The IRS was really peaved that the Courts sided with Scientology not the IRS!

L. R. Hubbard was quoted by another person as saying that he wanted to create a religion to make money...he wrote a book and some crazy people thought it was real, he went with it...so it's really obvious what his intentions were when he started up the religion.

I don't know if you are the only one that thinks that, but I don't think that is true. You see, for what it's worth, I used to be a member and it seemed to me that they were truly dedicated to helping people achieve a higher state of being. True, it costs an arm and a leg (which is why I left), but I believe their heart is in the right place.

I know very little about Scientology, but I'm convinced that all man-made religions are flawed and worthless.

Scientology is as filthy as it gets. I have a friend who is a Scientologist. Sure enough, they talked him into selling vitamins and a dozen other MLM schemes. He's a sweet guy but sooooo gullible.

Thanks hugely to the person who posted the 1991 Time article. No, you're obviously not the only one who thinks it's just a scam. I had a booth next to them last weekend at a holistic fair, and their energy was really unpleasant.
