Service-connected disability is found in any veteran who was disabled by injury or disease incurred or aggravated in the line of duty during active military service. Non-service connected disability is found in any veteran whose disability originated outside of active service.

Service connected is a term used in the military. Service connected means that an injury received IS service connected. BUT non service connected will mean that the injury IS NOT connected to the service.

well i have a service connected disability, because it happened in the line of duty. if i had been in a car crash while in the military that would have been non service connected.
